He went on his twenty-minute brake and a new dealer came in. He would also sometime give out the wrong payout for the hand. The first dealer I had would sometime clear the three community cards before paying two or three people (just because he just wasn’t paying attention to the game) and the players would have to quickly remind them he didn’t pay them or take their money. There were six of us playing at the table. Also, the dealers at Mississippi stud didn’t know what they were doing. At Ameristar they were not talkative at all. After the pit boss puts my info into the computer they will address me by name and will wish me good luck. At other casinos in town, the dealer/pit boss will automatically ask if I want to be rated and for my card when I sit down, here they didn’t. This time two came over to the table and asked if I would like to be rated for comps once I had been playing for a while. On my last visit, I never even met any pit boss. One area that improved slightly was the friendliness of the pit bosses. It seems that the gaming staff (dealers and pit bosses) don’t trust the security to do their job of checking ids at the casino entrance. At two tables at Ameristar they (pit boss at pai gow poker and boxman at craps) asked for my id. At the other casinos, they never ask me for my id at the tables. At Ameristar they do what the other casinos do (but about 3 times), and then ask various questions like when is your birthday, how old are you, what’s your middle name to make sure your not using a fake id. At the other casinos in town, they will look at my face, look at my driver’s license photo, and my birthday and that’s it. At the four other casinos in town, if I get carded, I only get carded at the entrance and never at the games. I understand that the casino has to make sure no one under 21 enters/plays in the casino to stay in business, but Ameristar goes overboard to prevent underage people in the casino. It has improved since last time, but the casino is still not great. I decided to give it another try in late November (trip advisor requires three months before another review) and played craps, pai gow poker, and Mississippi stud. I wrote a review in October about my horrible experience at Ameristar.
